DraftKings Hacker 'Snoopy' Sentenced to 18 Months for Credential Stuffing Scheme
A 21-year-old hacker known as "Snoopy" has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his involvement in the November 2022 **DraftKings** cyberattack. **Nathan Austad** pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, admitting to compromising 60,000 user accounts and facilitating the theft of $600,000.

In December 2025, **Nathan Austad** of Minnesota pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit computer intrusion, admitting that he and co-conspirators compromised 60,000 **DraftKings** user accounts.
During the attack, the hackers added payment methods under their control to 1,600 accounts and stole $600,000.
### The Credential Stuffing Attack
**DraftKings**, a popular fantasy sports and sports betting platform, disclosed in November 2022 that hackers had accessed customer accounts. This was achieved through credential stuffing attacks, exploiting weak or reused login credentials.
Initially, **DraftKings** reported less than $300,000 stolen. A month later, the company updated its disclosure, confirming that 67,995 customer accounts had been compromised.
### The Investigation and Other Convictions
In May 2023, U.S. authorities charged **Joseph Garrison** for his involvement in the scheme. He and his co-conspirators were accused of selling access to hacked **DraftKings** accounts on online marketplaces, including a platform known as the βGoat Shop.β
Further charges were brought in January 2024, including against **Kamerin Stokes** ("TheMFNPlug") and **Nathan Austad** ("Snoopy"). Austad reportedly operated his own shop, named after the **Peanuts** comic strip character, where he sold access to stolen accounts, in addition to using other platforms for the same purpose.

According to the **U.S. Department of Justice** (DoJ), Austad's cryptocurrency accounts received approximately $465,000 in assets. The DoJ also highlighted direct messages where Austad openly admitted to fraudulent activity and warned co-conspirators.
**Joseph Garrison** received an 18-month imprisonment sentence in January 2024, while **Kamerin Stokes** was sentenced to 30 months in April 2026.
In addition to his prison sentence, Austad received three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $463,684 in forfeiture and $1,327,061 in restitution.
