Hasbro Confirms Data Breach Exposing Employee Personal and Financial Information
Toy and game giant **Hasbro** has disclosed a data breach impacting an undisclosed number of employees, with sensitive personal and financial information compromised. This incident follows a separate cyberattack in March that caused significant revenue losses, raising questions about the company's cybersecurity posture.
Leading toy and game company **Hasbro** has confirmed a data breach affecting its employees, revealing that attackers gained unauthorized access to personal and financial information. The disclosure came through data breach notification letters filed with the **Massachusetts Attorney General's Office**.
While the total number of affected individuals remains undisclosed in the initial letters, details from the **Massachusetts Attorney General's Office 2026 Data Breach Notification Report** indicate that 436 **Hasbro** employees in Massachusetts had their **Social Security numbers**, financial account information, credit/debit card numbers, and driver's license information exposed.

The company stated, "The information involved varied by individual but may have included your name and one or more additional personal information elements such as email, address, phone number, national ID number, or financial information."
**Hasbro** has implemented containment and remediation measures, including disabling the compromised employee account, terminating unauthorized access, and deploying additional safeguards to prevent similar incidents.
This latest disclosure follows a separate cyberattack in early April, which **Hasbro** publicly acknowledged hit its systems on March 28. That incident forced the company to take certain systems offline for restoration. A filing with the **U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)** at the time warned investors of "some delays" and anticipated that business continuity measures might be necessary for several weeks.
Financial reports filed by **Hasbro** since the March incident estimate a revenue loss of approximately $25 million due to the cyberattack. However, **Hasbro** has not explicitly linked the March cyberattack with the data breach disclosed in the recent notification letters.
It remains unclear whether any customer data was affected in either incident, and **Hasbro** has not commented on whether a ransom demand was made.
